Scream!!!

September 14th, 2005

Well, Monday I came home from work and saw a big pile of concrete laying beside my driveway…it seems they tore up part of the patio that they already poured last week! First thing I felt like doing was screaming! They guy didn’t like the looks of it, so he tore it out! I was expecting to see concrete poured in front of our garage, but no…they went backwards…how depressing. Yesterday was my day off and they were here pouring the concrete there where it was supposed to be done on Monday. It’s getting pretty old, let me tell you…This is the 3rd week they are working on this and probably won’t be done with it till the end of next week. We won’t be able to drive on it for about 2 weeks yet…that is if they ever get done with it!

One day left…

September 8th, 2005

One day left…only one more day of my vacation that doesn’t seem like a vacation. They are still working on our back yard…I mean patio now…not much yard left. They’re smoothing out the surface of the actual patio today and also have the bobcat back digging out dirt for the pads for the cars. They’ll be framing that in today and also the rest of the sidewalk up front. I didn’t think they’d be done by Friday…they thought they might be, but it rained Tuesday and they didn’t work Wednesday. I can’t say it enough that I hate construction. Well, that’s all for now.

Yay Vacation! Boo working vacation :-(

September 3rd, 2005

Well it’s Labor Day Weekend and I hope everyone is having a good time and not working so hard! I cleaned house today, Bill cooked a nice supper, and we’ve got company for the Nebraska game. Tomorrow we start on our landscaping projects…what fun…it will be worth it in my old age not to have to pull weeds tho. Let’s see…my old age started about 7 years ago. Well, gotta go…enjoy your time off if you’re lucky enough to get any! Bye.

New pictures are up!

September 2nd, 2005

Hey I posted some pictures of the progress on the backyard patio and flowerbed borders and front steps. Go to the pictures link and check them out. I didn’t have time to put them all on there, and I took some videos too, but those aren’t there either. I put pictures of the signs I painted for advertising at work too. Bill and I both have a week off for vacation, so we’re going to use it to work on our landscaping. That’s all for now.

Sept. 1st

September 1st, 2005

Wow! It’s already September! Time keeps speeding up…but the construction out front doesn’t! We got the Nebraska game on PPV Saturday and having some company over for that. Something different to do, I guess. They’ve got the patio all framed in now, and also the borders for the flower beds. Next is the front sidewalk and steps, after that they’ll get the concrete trucks in to pour the patio. One step at a time. More later…have to get ready for work again. I have vacation coming up starting on Saturday tho…YAY!!!

Bobcat 753

August 30th, 2005

That’s what I’m looking at out my window today, in my back yard…(what back yard?) Griffiths is here with his bobcat leveling out the back so we can get a patio put in there. Can’t wait! It’s going to be nice when it’s all done. Also they finally poured the sidewalk in front, and we might be able to use the driveway for a few days until we get that paved. They probably won’t put in the sod until fall so it can get a good start and not die. I’m so tired of the construction out front, but now that there’s some going on in my yard, I don’t mind it so much. Anyway, next year for Pat’s graduation (I hope) we can have it out back and there will be plenty of room for it there. Well, bye again.
