3 long days left to work, then off for the weekend.

August 21st, 2007

Had a short day today, but only 3 left in an 8 day run. Not much else to say except we’re going for a ride just to get Bill out of the house for a while…he doesn’t do much anymore with all his back problems…he mows the yard, but it takes him a lot longer than it used to. Anyway, not much new…just looking forward to going to Carly’s wedding on Saturday in Lincoln. Might go early and have lunch with some of the relatives, but might not…don’t know yet. Well, that’s all for today.

Day 2 in an 8 day run.

August 18th, 2007

Yeah, I work 8 days in a row. My boss is on vacation so I have to work extra. Oh well, the paycheck will be good in a couple weeks. Oh, it’s so rare anymore to see both of my brothers in the same day. Randy came in with his new girlfriend, and then later Rick came in just to say hi. Anyway, that’s all for now…

Hey there Bruhn family…

August 14th, 2007

Jen has told me that not too many of the Bruhn side read this or post. I might just eliminate that category, and we all can just post in the general column. What do you think of that??????

Baby shower.

August 12th, 2007

I went to the baby shower for Joe & Tammy’s baby today. It was held at Tammy’s niece’s house (Jenny) in Columbus. We played a couple games, she opened presents, and we had a nice snack. Then on the way home there was a really strong storm. I had to stop at the M-Mart in Monroe for about a half hour to wait out the storm. There was really heavy rain, wind, hail…anyway, I made it home ok after the storm let up a little and the sky was brightening up. (More from the weather station here in my house LOL). K Bye

Space station, shuttle, and falling stars.

August 12th, 2007

What a beautiful night last night! We went to our friends’ house last night and spent about 5 hours stargazing, and it was spectacular! The weather was perfect, hardly any wind, very few bugs, and nice temperatures. We saw the space station go by at a little after 10pm, and again around midnight. There were a lot of falling stars and satellites and airplanes going over. I really enjoyed myself. We also decided to start a new company…”Starburn Industries Incorporated”…we’ll make a kind of lotion that protects against starburn (you obviously know what sunburn and moonburn are, now you’ve heard of starburn). Our pitch will be…”When stargazing, don’t forget to use your SPF80 (that’s Star Protection Factor 80) lotion, guaranteed to protect you from starburn!” LOL we had a riot with that one! OK so now if anyone else in the world starts something like this…you know I thought of it first! LOL!!! Anyway, I think the last time I spent that long stargazing was about 20 years ago when we went to visit Joe and Barb in Montana. Now that you’ve had your day’s ration of humor, have a lovely day. K bye.

Man…it’s HOT out!

August 9th, 2007

I’m not sure how hot it actually got today, but when I went for lunch it was 101…and in the store it was 90. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to work all that well in there any more. It’s supposed to be even hotter this weekend…well, that’s summer in Nebraska. I can’t complain too much though, at least we haven’t had 100+ for more that a day or two all summer. August is going to be the hottest I think. We did have some good rainfall over the past few weeks, almost an inch a couple days ago. Well, that’s all for the weather report…LOL. Later.
