Wow…it’s August 1st already…

August 1st, 2007

Yup…that just about says it all. I guess I really don’t have a lot to say, but I should write something. Hmmm let’s see…I went to Norfolk on Saturday just to look around, and to get a baby gift for Joe & Tammy for the baby shower coming up on the 12th. They’re registered at Target, so that’s where I started out shopping. When I was there, I saw Betty…didn’t say hi to her though, I don’t like her much. I used to work with her at Dale’s. Hmmm what else…oh yeah, when I first got to Norfolk, I stopped at the car lot right north of the viaduct. I test drove an ’05 Dodge pickup. It drove ok for a pickup I guess. I’m not buying it, but I had fun messing with the salesman though. When I first pulled in to the lot, he came rushing out…I didn’t even have time to get out of the car. He asked if he could help me & I asked about the pickup. He asked if I have anything to trade in…I said I was thinking about paying cash (HA-HA that’s a good one). You should have seen him falling all over himself to get me the keys to test drive it (LOL). When I got back from the little test drive, I told him that for the price they were asking, it should have power seats, power windows, and at the very least cruise control. Anyway…that’s pretty sad to think that I could get some enjoyment out of messing with a car salesman…I need to get out more! OK I guess that’s all for today.

Horse races start today.

July 27th, 2007

Yeah, we’ll probably go for a few races. I’m not good at picking winners. Usually the way it goes is…I pick some horses and bet on them and they don’t come in…I pick some horses and DON’T bet on them and they come in. That’s the way my luck runs. So I just go to watch. Anyway, nothing new has happened since the last time I posted anything. Just back and forth to work. We got an inch of rain last night. The storm woke me up at about 12:30 or so. OK does anyone get into reading the Harry Potter books? A kid at work had one the other day…yeah, I’ve seen the movies, but never did buy the books…25 or 50 cent used books at goodwill are more my speed…I can always find a big stack of used sci-fi or fantacy paperbacks for less than $5 and they keep me reading for a long time. Well I don’t have anything else today, so e-mail me or something…I’d love to hear from you! k bye

Congratulations Pat!

Pat signed up at the KLIR booth at the fair and won 2 tickets to Comstock or Godstock! Do you think he’ll go to Godstock?

Hi

July 10th, 2007

Well, after work Sunday we spent the evening here at home. Mike and Janine were in town and they came over for supper. We had some nice steaks and salads and home made ice cream for desert. Sat outside and enjoyed the pond and the patio and the company! I totally forgot that we had some Daniels sweet corn in the ‘frig’ though, sorry about that…oh well… Anyway, we had a nice time. I’m also looking forward to the 20th in Gretna. We were invited to Joe and Tammys for a patio party there. I was able to get scheduled off early from work that day so we can go. I only have to work till 4 that evening, but I also have to work the next day at 10am, so we won’t be staying overnight. I’m also looking forward to going to Tammy’s baby shower next month. I’m sure she won’t be having any games like the ones at her bridal shower…I remember one certain game involving a banana and a condom…LOL To change the subject…my garden is coming along nicely. I got a handful of peas this morning, and I saw 1 red strawberry (not quite ripe yet), and I have a few small tomatoes set. I only have a little container garden (3 big containers)…that way I can get a few fresh items and not have to spend 2 hours in a big garden pulling weeds in the heat. That’s all for today, k bye.

Poo…back to work today.

July 7th, 2007

Well, that week just flew by! Now it’s back to work again. After work though, we were invited out to Sam and Sheri’s cabin for prime rib…sounds yummy. Mike and Janine will be there, and I don’t know who else. That’s all for today.

Horseshoe.

July 3rd, 2007

Today we went to the Horseshoe Casino, and to Harrah’s Casino. We had a nice meal at the buffet, and had some fun. I came home “not broke” and bought a nice little hooded jacket…I thought I’d hit the gift shop to buy something instead of losing that money in the slot machines, that way I’d have something (besides an empty wallet) to take home with me. Tomorrow night is the big fireworks show in town here, and a couple other things going on in the park before that. OK, well have a nice 4th everybody! K Bye

July 5…7:30 am
Well, that wasn’t as good as the one at Ag Park, but still it was fireworks. We didn’t go to the other stuff in the park before that, just stayed here and had a nice meal. Adam and Pat and his girlfriend Ashley were here for supper, we missed Steve though, he had to work. That’s all for now, k bye.
