Tomorrow I’m old…

November 28th, 2007

Yeah, tomorrow I’m old. Although I’ve felt old pretty much all my life, even when I was a kid, so I guess it’s not so bad. I just have a lot more aches and pains than I used to (and a lot more wrinkles). So, I really don’t have anything interesting to say today.

Black Friday.

November 24th, 2007

Well, I wasn’t there at 5 in the morning to see all the crazy people who get up that early to spend money on stupid stuff that they will probably return anyway. I also wasn’t there to sell that stupid stuff to them. I didn’t have to be there till noon when most of those crazy people were gone. The only problem I heard about was one fat lady trying to cut in line, she didn’t want to wait 3 hours to check out. When one worker called her on it she said “Last year they let us cut in line”. Well that just wasn’t true of course. She got all mad and wanted to talk to the store manager. Needless to say she had to go to the back of the line (all mad). What does she expect? That everyone else that has been waiting that long should let her cut in front of them? Would you? I wouldn’t. Even though I don’t go out in that madness in the first place! Well, we had pot luck yesterday for the workers. I brought Bill’s chicken rice soup. Everybody liked it and it was gone when I went home. There was some pretty good stuff, and I pigged out. OK, I have to get ready for another “lovely” day at work. Uh, yeah…

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

November 22nd, 2007

This time for real (HA). Hope everyone is enjoying the day with family and friends. Me…well lets just say that I’m on the computer. Bill made turkey and all the fixins a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, we will be celebrating next weekend by doing something different…celebrating Thanksgiving and my birthday together. Most likely we will go down to Lincoln and try a restaurant that we haven’t been to, then who knows what, maybe see a show or something. If we get down there early enough and if it’s nice outside, maybe we could watch some of the Star City Parade. Hey Steve, anything else going on that day that we could do?

…- – -…

November 12th, 2007

That’s basically all I know of morris code …- – -… I think it means sos. Anyway I don’t know why I wrote that, I guess I just needed a new title for a posting. I’m watching a show called Trick My Trucker. I don’t know why ’cause it’s kind of boring, guess I’ll change the channel. Sci-fi channel is always good.
Good news…just last week I became an aunt again! Congratulations to Joe and Tammy! Their daughter Emma is a real cutie! Looks just like Tammy. Their lives will never be the same! I know for a fact that I’d never be able to do all that again. It makes me tired just thinking about it, not that I regret all that time and energy raising my boys, just that I couldn’t do it again. Now I just need some grandchildren that I can spoil and fill full of candy and send home.
Well, I don’t have anything else to say right now. Maybe I’ll have more tomorrow. G’night.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 7th, 2007

I’ve been looking forward to today since last Saturday. Bill cooked and I cleaned up. He made us a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It sure was good! In past years he would do this on Canadian Thanksgiving Day, this year it’s a little late I guess. And hey, there’s always something that you forget to put on the table, right? Well for me it was the cranberry sauce that I made a special trip to buy at the store yesterday. I’ll just have to eat some with leftovers later. I always put the leftover turkey off the bones directly into the big pot of turkey gravy. The meat doesn’t dry out and it sure keeps the turkey from tasting “left-over”. There was a lot of dressing leftover too…mmmmmm-mmmmmm-good…and sweet potatoes…oh yeah, and cranberry sauce. I still have pie and ice cream yet too…mmm-mmm-yummy. Well, I’ll write more later…we’re going for a little drive. Bye.

Such an exciting life I lead…

November 3rd, 2007

Halloween is over. Bill handed out the candy this year. He said there were 40-some kids in all, about the same as last year. I did notice that the candy didn’t last as long…no more kids living here to go out and get candy to bring home. I had to work that night. All I did this year was put on black fingernail polish, wear “ghost” earrings, put a black-plastic spider in my hair, and carry a fake squishy rat in my pocket at work. Nobody at work dressed in a costume this year. Someone said they saw a guy come in with a self-inflating samuri suit. One guy told me that the guy’s costume would give me a run for the money compared with my grim reaper costume a few years ago. (I dressed up one time when I didn’t have to work.)
Next holiday is Thanksgiving, then a birthday, then Christmas. Time just flies by (at the speed of light!). I don’t know what we’re doing for Thanksgiving yet, maybe our children will take us out to eat (hint-hint).
I’m feeling pretty old here lately, I’m literally falling apart…been having trouble with my foot lately (not a serious one yet), but at my job that could really not be good. Bill hasn’t been doing much, he’s falling apart quicker than me. Too bad we can’t win the lottery…I wouldn’t be greedy, I’d just want enough in the bank not to worry, know what I mean? Let’s get a little “sharing of the wealth” going on here huh? Some rich guys (know any?) can just let me have some of theirs…right? I suppose I’d have to buy a lottery ticket in order to win the lottery though… Anyway, I sat around last evening with ice on my foot.
Had a visit from Pat last night. He didn’t stay long, so I don’t have anything new from him. I think he left so quick because he was probably embarrassed by the show that just came on tv. It was on the Discovery Channel…a documentary on Chineese sexual practices, literature, and art. 😉 😀 Didn’t you ever think about what YOUR parents did after all the kids moved away??? Now you know…they watch tv.
Steve is moving, back to the complex he was at a while back. Still in Lincoln. Adam is living with his buddies in Genoa. He stopped by on Wednesday. Wow, I’ve written a pretty big little posting here, huh? I didn’t think I was leading THAT exciting a life! Anyway, I guess I better go get some groceries…running low on a few things, need to buy some candy too. Hope you all had a fun Halloween. Any replies???
