Jingle Bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.

December 20th, 2007

I wake up just about every morning with Christmas music playing in my head. At least it’s a different song every day. That’s what happens because I have to listen to it all day every day at work. There are only SO MANY Christmas songs. I hear 5 versions of the same song in a day, sometimes twice a day. Let me tell you that they are starting to get on my nerves BIG TIME! What kills me is that when I get home and turn on the radio when I want to listen to music in the shower…another Christmas song starts to play. I can’t just get out of the shower to change the station. It ususally ends up being the 12 Days of Christmas sung by the muppets. I AM looking forward to Christmas Day itself though. All of my boys and my parents and maybe my brothers are coming. I’m looking forward to spending time with them. Anyway, I have to go put the bread in the oven. Frozen bread dough is just a wonderful thing, don’t you think? Later…

Chitty chitty bang bang.

December 16th, 2007

Haven’t seen that movie in a long long time, but it’s on tv right now. I don’t think I really saw the whole movie way back then, because I don’t really remember much of it. Anyway…last night was the big Korgie Christmas gathering, which we didn’t go to. We had other plans. I hope whoever did go had a nice time.

Well, I’ve been making Christmas cookies on my days off. I’ve got 5 different kinds now, and will probably have at least 3 more kinds before Christmas. That’s all I’m doing for gifts this year…can’t afford to go shopping for stuff that will probably be returned anyway. Bill and I will be making a nice Christmas meal for our family, so that’s just going to have to be good for this year. What’s really important to me is the time we will get to spend just being together.

Anyway, I don’t have much to say on here anymore…so what you see is what you get.

Merry Christmas!

Another crazy guy with a gun…

December 5th, 2007

Unfortunately there’s been another shooting…this time in a mall in Omaha. 9 people dead including the shooter, and 5 more injured. This guy got fired from his job today and decided to get his gun and take his problems out on inocent bystanders. This time of year brings out the worst in some people. All I can think to do is pray for the families of those people he killed, and also for his family. It’s unfortunate that things like that happen.

Monday sucks

December 3rd, 2007

It warmed up a little bit today and melted a lot of the ice, but not all. My feet hurt, my knees hurt, my hip hurts, my head hurts…….I’m falling apart. Monday sucks. Working sucks. Not being rich sucks. OK, bye.

Ice storm

December 1st, 2007

That’s what’s outside this morning. Icicles hanging from the garage and everything else. Every blade of grass is covered with ice. It looks like it’s raining now and will warm up outside later, so the ice probably won’t last long.

Well we went out to Husker House for supper last night for my birthday. Prime Rib was good. I rented some movies, enough to last the whole weekend. The one we watched last night was a Nicolas Cage movie “Next”. It’s about a guy born with the ability to see 2 minutes into the future. I want to see his next new movie when it comes out on video…the sequil to National Treasure (that one was good too).

Bill started up the wood burner last night so it was nice and warm in here last night. This morning it feels cold in the house again. Maybe it would help to get dressed in warmer clothes. Then maybe I’ll get some frozen bread dough out to start it thawing and we can have some fresh bread for supper. That sounds good. I’ll see what else is in the freezer so we can have a nice supper.

Today might be a good day to do a little spring cleaning…ummm…we’ll see how the day goes LOL. Maybe it’ll wait till spring…

I put up my little Christmas Tree last night. Pulled it out of the box, straightened up the branches and plugged it in…done. I don’t put up many lights outside anymore since they put in those big street lights out front. The icicle lights on the fence are still up from last year, but they still work!

I guess that’s all for today (it’s December already…time is flying by). Leave a comment if you dare…

Yeah, Happy Birthday to me…
