The day is finally here! My vacation has started! Now the work begins…already was outside pulling weeds while Bill and the boys mowed. Now I’m tired. Paid the bills and checked the e-mail, now writing a little bit here, and then going to bed. Maybe will go up to Norfolk tomorrow to look at fences again…not going to buy anything until we find out if we got the permit…yeah Steve, I thought we’d need your pickup tomorrow, but now probably not. Well, just one more day till my vacation! My boss at work is sure going to squeeze every last minute out of me too, plus even more…I was going to be able to get off 2 hours early today, but 10 minutes before I was going to leave, the boss called me and said he changed his mind, to send my part time girl home instead…and now I have to go in 1-1/2 hours early tomorrow. Oh well, that’s more money in my paycheck I guess. Anyway, I finished my signs today, now they are both hanging on the fence just south of the front doors there, so if anyone goes there, you can see them right away. They turned out pretty good. That’s all for today.

Just like it says above…only 2 more days till vacation! Work has been different the last week or so…I’ve been working on painting 2 signs on 4′ x 8′ plywood. One says “We sell trusses” and has a truss painted under that. That was the easy one. The other one I’m still working on, it says “We sell pole barns” and has a pole barn painted under that. That one is taking longer, it’s more detailed. They put heavy hooks on the back side of them and put the first one right outside the front door hanging on the fence that encloses part of the patio area. The other one will go right beside that. I keep getting compliments on them, so they must be good. Anyway, it’s been a change in routine. That’s all for today.

Yay! I have a week of vacation coming up this weekend! We don’t have anything special planned yet, although I’ll probably be working harder at home this week than I would have at work. We are planning on putting in some privacy fences around here…not going to close of the entire yard, just putting them in a few places to make the back yard more private. I think I’ll look in the Nebraska visitors guide and see whats all going on in the state for Memorial weekend. Maybe I can find something that we all can do together. We also will make the rounds to the cemeteries too…have a few memories to revisit. We mowed some at the Platte Center cemetery a few weeks ago and trimmed up some of the trees. Got about a third of the way through and one of the Hoadley’s came out there and said he was going to do the rest with his riding mower. He was also going to haul away the tree branches that we trimmed. It should look nice for Memorial weekend. Anyway, thats all I have for now. Leave a comment, ok? Bye for now.

Whats everyones plans for the summer time?

I used to love my job, but now it sucks! I take that back, the job is ok, it’s one certain person I work for that sucks! I think I’ll look into going back to school…who knows what for…
