I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to go back to the dentist for a while. Too bad for me, I need 2 more appointments yet. That means that maybe I’ll be done with all this before my birthday sometime. Well at least it doesn’t hurt anymore.

I was watching the new show last night…or the new version of the old show…the Bionic Woman. She jumped from one building to the other…that would be cool if you could really do that in real life…yeah, right. Anyway, today is my last dental appointment for a long time (I hope). Supposed to get the permanent crown on top and the permanent filling on the bottom. I just started chewing on that side in the last day or so. It feels pretty good not having my teeth hurt. No more dentist talk. OK so…more later…

Went to Husker House for the birthday meal…guess what we had? Hmmm let’s see…could it be prime rib? That tasted pretty good…haven’t been there for a while. Went to visit friends after, and home by 10pm. More later…

Until it was about time to leave work tonight, and then my jaw started to hurt again…bummer. So I took some advil and my antibiotic, and rinsed with warm salt water…I hope it doesn’t keep hurting…that would suck! Bill’s birthday is tomorrow, so we’re going to Husker House to eat. We haven’t been there for quite a while, so that will be nice. Nothing much else planned for the evening, maybe visit some friends, but will be home early. That’s all for tonight.

Yay!!! I feel better already! I was so worried about that root canal. Now that it’s over, I can tell already that it doesn’t HURT anymore! (Even though I took some advil). Maybe I should wait till tomorrow to see how it really feels. That’s the first dentist office I’ve ever been to with cable tv. I only got to watch about 10 minutes of the discovery channel while the novacaine kicked in. I gotta tell ya tho…it SURE WASN’T FUN sitting in that dentist chair for about 3 hours. Poor Bill…he had to sit in the car for that long…now his back and neck are hurting him. God, it’s just not fair what happens to us when we get older. Having my teeth hurt for almost 2 months has sure drained my energy.
Hi David and Jen! Sorry to hear about your tooth troubles Jen. How come you had to get all that work done? Did you bite down on something hard like me? Or are you just getting old too???????
Anyway, I still have another appointment at the regular dentist on the 27th to get the permanent crown for the top one, and to get a permanent filling for the one they did the root canal on today. I thought about getting a crown for that one, but can’t really afford it after today. Insurance doesn’t cover any of it. I figure I don’t really need a crown on that one anyway, the tooth is still in good shape, good enough to have just the filling. Later on if the tooth breaks apart or something…I can always get it later. It feels pretty good right now. But then again, I’ll wait until morning.
OK, now that I’ve written a nice long blog entry, somebody else better chime in with a comment…maybe your dental experiences…or whatever…bye.

Yeah, this is getting to be too much. I think I’ll try to get in on Monday and just have the damn thing pulled. I’m supposed to go to Omaha on Tuesday for a root canal…but everybody I talk to that has had a root canal says they’d never have another one. Hell, I don’t know…all I do know is that I’m tired of it hurting.
