Thursday on my day off, I finished putting up curtains in the “guest room” and also I got all of the patio furniture out of the basement and put it out on the patio. It was a beautiful day, the temperature got up over 80 degrees. I got a little bit pink around the edges when I was outside, not enough to hurt, but just got some color. Yay it’s closer to summer.

Yesterday was Arbor Day here in Nebraska. Did you plant a tree?

PIP OK, that was one of my smoke alarms letting me know that it needs it’s battery replaced. Good thing I bought batteries last weekend.

Happy Earth Day. Is everybody “green” today? I know Kermit the Frog is. I got a free blue “green bag” from the 2 girls handing them out in front of Wal-Mart today.

I plan on doing something outside tomorrow on my day off. It might be roller skating, or taking a walk, or going for a picture-taking excursion, or just doing some yard work, just depends on what I feel like doing in the morning.

Did you pull any pranks on anyone yet today? If you do…just make sure they don’t hurt anyone. I only have Bill to play pranks on, but I don’t think I will. I remember one year I took a fart machine to work and hid it behind the desk. Every time someone I worked with came up to the desk, I’d push the button and make the fart noise…some jumped, some looked around, some just laughed. I couldn’t do that now…that place has just changed too much since the new store opened. I miss the old place. Now we are on camera all the time. I couldn’t get away with having fun at work anymore…at least now I don’t have to physically work as hard anymore, my knees and feet are wearing out from the last 10 years. Waaa-waaa kwit-cher-bit-chin! I’m glad I still have a job (which by the way, I’m on vacation from right now!). Well anyway, leave a comment. Had a fun time in Kansas City, even if Steve’s race was cancelled. He got an expensive t-shirt and a plastic cup. It was supposed to snow 6-12 inches so they cancelled the marathon on Friday night. Saturday it rained pretty much all morning and didn’t change over to ice and snow until noon or 1. Snowed a total of 4-5 inches of heavy wet snow. This morning for the trip home, the roads were clear. Stopped at Terribles Casino in St. Joe MO on the way back. Played slots for a little while and roulette, and we all had a good Sunday brunch at their buffet. They had oysters on the half shell (which Bill liked) and prime rib (which I liked). Got home about 7pm after checking out the work my brother has done on his house. He’s made a lot of progress on it. OK, that’s all for now.

Channel surfing…came across a movie about Billy Jean King and Bobby Riggs when they had their big tennis match back in the 70’s (?). Holly Hunter is playing Billy Jean, Ron Silver is Bobby. So far it’s a pretty good movie. Never saw that one before. 2001 movie – When Billy Beat Bobby.

OK, downstairs to play some Wii bowling. My highest score so far is 279…11 out of 12 possible strikes with a 9 & 1 spare in the 4th frame. WOW, I was really in the zone that day. Getting better at golf and batting practice, but don’t do much of the tennis or boxing yet.

Update March 17…just heard on the news that Ron Silver died…some sort of cancer…too bad…

Well today I got a set of 4 new tires for my car…and now I have a smooth ride. The old tires were pretty worn down, almost bald, so I thought I’d get that taken care of before our little road trip to Kansas in a couple weeks. Got some nice ones…Tiger Paw Touring 80,000 mile rated…kind of expensive, but it’s the last set of tires I’ll have to buy for my car. Now my tax refund is about used up, my new glasses next week will take care of the rest of that really quick.

I’ve got cabin fever really bad, it seems like every nice day I’m stuck inside at work, and when I get a day off it’s cold or rainy or snowy or just icky…so I just stand in the doorway at work and get a few seconds of sun & warm.

Well I have a vacation coming up in 2 weeks, and I actually get 11 days off in a row…how did that happen??? That’s great! That’s almost like getting a 2 week vacation! It’s going to start off nice with a long road trip. Looks like my mom is riding down with us so she can visit friends (they live about 6 miles from Mike). We’ll drop her off, then pick her up when it’s time to go home. Steve is also riding down with us, so we’ll have a full car. Most likely will stop at the casinos in Council Bluffs on the way back instead of on the way down. That way we’ll be in Kansas City before rush hour, and won’t have to drive in all the extra traffic. I’m looking forward to watching Steve in his race!

Well, I got a call from a good friend that I haven’t seen for a while. She’s coming for a visit in May! I’m excited to see her, she’s got some time off from her job and is doing a little road tripping too. Her road trip is lasting longer than a couple days though…good for her! I’ll have to think of something we can do when she’s here.

I guess that’s all for now. Have to work early in the morning again, so I think I’ll go to bed early. Later.
