MM-MM-SPAM…MM-MM-GOOD…(NOT)…

Well, it’s time to think about changing my ISP…they can’t seem to filter out the spam anymore.  I just got SEVEN of them in one day.  I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot to me.  I’m used to not getting e-mail, much less seven in one day…LOL…I guess that makes me not very popular huh?  Anyway, maybe I’ll forward all the ones I’ve gotten since the 4th of July to the server…maybe they’ll do something about it then.  Ssooo……I get 3 weekends off in a row starting this coming weekend.  I get a 3 day weekend over Labor Day weekend (yay).  Now if there’s just something I can think of to do where there aren’t a million people around.  Well, I guess that means I get to enjoy my patio.  Grill out, maybe have some people over, maybe have a drink, or two?  Should do something though.  Oh, I know what I could do…take some time to send Steve the picture for across the top of the site…oh yeah Steve, why does it say “Howdy” at the top right of the page I use to write the post?  Can you change it to “Hi”?  I don’t feel like a cowboy (or cowgirl) today LOL. OK then, that’s all I got for today.  If anyone reads this, leave a comment or e-mail me with some news or just to say hi, K???  Bye

The reason you get spam is because you enter your email address into websites that ask for it then they sell it. I have a seperate email address that I use for websites that wont let you do anything without registering. 7 spam mails a day is nothing I get at least 30 a day at the address I use for websites. Luckily most of them get caught before they get forwarded to my main address which uses a program called spam assassin to check them again and sends them to a spam box. If it gets by that then my email program catches it and deletes it. So after 3 layers of spam checking maybe 1 every 3 months gets through to my main email box where I have to manually delete it. Maybe you should consider switching email programs to something that is better at catching spam. I use Thunderbird for my email and it is good at learning spam and automatically moving it to the trash.

You can live with the howdy, that word is in the wordpress code itself and I’m not about to search through 500 files to change that to hi. If it isn’t broke I’m not going to fix it. I’ve already messed with it enough.

I didn’t put my e-mail address into any website, and howdy will be ok…didn’t think it would be that big a deal. Anyway, that’s all for now.
